The Palm Coast Adopt-A-Programs thrive through community efforts. By adopting a Park, Trail, Shoreline, or Road, you can positively impact your favorite places and connect with nature. Local groups, citizens, and supervised youth can showcase their abilities in maintaining cleanliness and minor upkeep, contributing to our community. Join in preserving Palm Coast's beauty for everyone.

Green City Hall
The City is incredibly proud that Palm Coast City Hall, which opened in October 2015, was awarded LEED certification at the Silver level for design and construction that demonstrates high performance in sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. Palm Coast's is the fifth City Hall in Florida to be LEED-certified.
The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the foremost program for buildings, homes and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.
Drought tolerant landscaping, including a rain garden, served by a high efficiency irrigation system using City reclaimed water.
Conveniently located reserved parking for carpooling groups and low‐emission/fuel‐efficient vehicle users.
Energy efficient building and site lighting, overall at least 20% more efficient than required by code.
Rain Barrels
Rain barrels offer an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution for residents of Palm Coast to harness the power of nature's bounty. The collected rainwater can be used for watering gardens, lawns, and plants, reducing the strain on the municipal water supply during dry spells. Additionally, using harvested rainwater for non-potable tasks like car washing or cleaning can contribute to lower water bills, conserving both resources and money. Embracing rain barrels not only empowers residents to be more self-sufficient but also plays a pivotal role in water conservation efforts, enhancing the city's resilience in the face of changing weather patterns.
Awards
Green Local Government
In 2009, Palm Coast received Silver Level Certification from the Florida Green Building Coalition, recognizing its outstanding stewardship. Over six years, the City Council promoted sustainability through Strategic Action Plans, achieving Gold Level status in 2010. Palm Coast was recertified as a Gold Level Green Local Government in 2015, ranking third statewide. Activities leading to this were documented in the Environmental Management System.
