Our Parks & Recreation Department is seeking Summer Camp Counselors to join their team! Depending on level of experience candidates may be hired as a Camp Counselor 1 or Camp Counselor 2. Under direction, the purpose of the position is to organize, supervise and lead student recreation activities for seasonal youth camps. Employees in this classification perform at entry staff level and are responsible for providing a safe recreational environment for the assigned community programs, youth activities and/or special events provided by the city. Employee works with independence and initiative within established policies and procedures.
Camp Counselor 1 - requires, in addition to above, (1) yr. previous exp. in childcare, day camp, youth recreation or camp program, within a similar recreational or educational environment starting at $15.56 - $17.64 p/h.
Camp Counselor 2 - requires, in addition to above, (2) yrs. previous exp. in childcare, day camp, youth recreation, or camp program within a similar recreational or educational environment starting at $16.39 - $18.58 p/h.
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Candidates are required to possess and maintain current CPR, First Aid, & AED certifications. City of Palm is offering In-house training and certifications to include certifications in; CPR, First Aid, and AED. Training will begin in May. Must be available to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends with varying hours.
