The American Public Works Association defines Public Works as, "the combination of physical assets, management practices, policies, and personnel necessary for government.
The Public Works Department in Palm Coast is organized into the following divisions:
Streets
The Streets division is responsible for ongoing maintenance of the roads and the corresponding rights-of-way including paving, mowing, landscaping, litter, signage and signals.
Facilities
The Facilities group maintains all city-owned buildings.
Fleet
The Fleet division as an internal service fund and is responsible for acquisition and maintenance of all city vehicles including those used by other departments and divisions.
