Palm Coast to Host Ribbon Cutting for New and Improved Waterfront Park

Thursday, August 10, 2023

The City of Palm Coast is set to host a public ribbon cutting event to recognize the new amenities, enhancements and renovations that are the result of a robust improvement project at Waterfront Park.

Partially funded by a grant from the Florida Inland Navigation District, the project, which commenced in November 2022, saw crews complete dredging and shoreline work, before installing a new floating dock, a concrete pad for gathering, a water access point for non-motorized water vessels, and new sod and landscaping throughout the park. Another update that will be available at Waterfront Park and other city parks will see the addition of interactive QR code kiosks that will offer visitors an enhanced look, and in-depth information about the park via their smartphone. Phase B of the project, which is yet to be completed, will feature additional parking, providing closer access to the new amenities.

“Working on this project, it was very important that we focused on enhancing the features and accessibility of Waterfront Park, without taking away from any of the natural beauty and scenery that it’s known for,” said Eric Gebo, project manager, and Stormwater & Engineering Architect for the City of Palm Coast. Having the ability to install the floating dock, new and improved green space and adding kayaking, paddleboarding and canoeing to the slate of what this park has to offer is something that we are really excited for residents to get out there and enjoy.”

The ribbon cutting event will take place at Waterfront Park on Friday, August 18 at 9am. Waterfront Park is located at 150 Waterfront Park Road, Palm Coast, FL, 32137
