Note: Held By: CCOTE The following items must be submitted in order to complete the Building Permit Application plan review. 1. Sheet S1: The floor framing and truss are not readable. Please reposition tags. 2. Sheet ST1: There appears to be some details that are not used (C, D, etc). Please remove details that do not apply to this project. 3. Sheet ST1: The shear wall assembly detail is confusing. a. Please modify to suit this project. There appears that there are only 1 story shear walls on this project and that there are no SW1 or SW2 shear walls. Remove these items if not used. b. The Hold down note on the top of the table is unclear. Hold Down at ends in addition to….. Are you stating that the hold downs required for shear walls are in addition to those required per the framing plan and wall sections? Also, you state that All threads may be substituted for required hold downs; so for our case outlined below would that mean that an All thread could be substituted for the SPH4 thus required two All threads at each end? c. Please clarify the hold down required. It appears that for wall section less than 15 feet require a hold down at each end and it appears that all shear walls for this project are less than 15 feet. These hold down consist of an SPH4 at double studs at each end. In addition an All thread is required within 3" of these double end studs/SPH4. d. The hold downs specified appear to not be applicable to the shear wall segment shown at the 2nd floor area over beam 1 at the garage. How would All threads be attached to the beam? The All threads system description states that they should be continuous to the foundation. e. Please update the shear wall elevation detail to show the shear wall on top of floor joists sitting on a cmu wall, rather than a footing as shown. Also, please show the All threads since these appear to always be required.
