Note: Panera Bread Comments 1/13/12 In order to allow a reduction in the minimum 4’ wide foundation planting on the east side of the building, a series of trellis’s were required to be designed per the following excerpt of the comment, “This can be achieved by providing a series of three decorative wall mounted trellis’s spaced evenly in the blank wall section of the east building wall. Appropriate plantings of vines or another espaliered type of plant material would sufficiently break up the blank wall and shade it from the eastern sun, making the building cooler. Under the windows, a small growing flowering plant such as bulbine would fit in this small area.” Four trellises have been shown but no details for them have been provided in regards to color, construction, manufacturer or specifications. Provide these details. The vine or espalier plants for the trellises have not been shown either. The azaleas shown as foundation plantings are shown right where the trellis locations are and they need to be removed from those areas and replaced with an appropriate, cold hardy plant that will climb or can be espaliered to the trellis.
