Note: THIS IS A REINSPECTION 500 Palm Coast Parkway Permit Number 2013040146 1. The two Italian cypress trees that were replaced were planted way too deep (about 10" below existing grade). Need to raise these two trees so the top of the rootball is at the same elevation as the adjacent existing grade. 2. Need to remove the weeds and provide 2-3" of mulch in the disturbed bed area where the Italian Cypress were replaced. 3. It was noted in a phone call prior to this inspection that two crape myrtles in the front landscape buffer were completely devoid of leaves and need to be replaced. There is some green still in the main canes, but most all of the lateral branches are dead. Code requires a Florida Number One or Better quality and these trees do not meet those criteria. 4. Since the last inspection, 14 wax myrtle shrubs along the east side of the building have died or are substantially dead and need replacement. 5. The as-built plans call for 9 Indian Hawthorn to be planted around the perimeter of the front monument sign. The intent is for the shrubs to be distributed evenly around all sides, not just the west side. Need to add one more, as there are only 8 existing, and put 4 on one side, 4 on the other and one on the north side of the side to buffer the sign base from the road. 6. Site is currently not being maintained to the level the City requires. Numerous weeds exist in the beds and dead branches of the shrubs and trees need to be pruned out. A truck has run through one of the landscape islands on the west side of the parking lot and this disturbed area needs to be fixed. Until the final inspection has been approved, the landscape contractor is responsible for delivering the site in good condition with no landscape code violations (dead trees, shrubs, excessive weeds in the beds). The landscape contractor may need to take this up with the current maintenance contractor on the project. When all of the above items have been addressed, please call in for the reinspection.
