| Note: 1. Need to shift two viburnum shrubs from A/C units on the east side of the building to be located behind a ligustrum tree to make the foundation shrubbery planting continuous. Add one 7 gallon, 30 inch tall viburnum to take the place of the two relocated ones in order to screen the unit. 2. Make sure all loose dirt of off the top of the rootballs of the shrubs before mulching. 3. Continue the visual buffer hedge that is on the north side of the site further to the east per the approved plan. Remove the dumpster that is in the buffer and add buffer hedge plants there as well for a continuous buffer. 4. Mulch and sod still need to be installed. 5. Code issue with the way the existing oak trees were pruned. City will get with the owner as to mitigation required for pruning violations. | |||

The wood stakes need to be on the side opposite of the construction area. 2) Silt fencing must be trenched into the ground a minimumof 4 inches deep and a horizontal flap of the fencing material is to lay in the bottom of the trench prior to backfilling with soil to grade. 3) Call in re-inspection when this work has been completed. |

| Note: 13 Kingswood Drive 2-27-14 Permit Number 2013120501 1. In the meeting we had on site with Jim Hope and Jeff Brower, it was discussed that the required tree mitigation for the unpermitted pruning that had occurred would require a) Three oak trees at the following size: 3-1/2 inch caliper and 12-14 foot tall, 65-gallon container. Two were to be planted in the north landscape buffer and one in the east buffer. The two in the north buffer are not shown at this size. The one in the east buffer is not shown at all. See mark-up attached to this response comment that shows the location discussed for the east buffer tree. b) Four crape myrtles at the following size: 12-14’ tall, 65-gallon container. Only one is shown on the plan in the east buffer, but three more are required. Make sure plant list shows this correct size. See mark-up attached to this response comment that shows the location for the three crapes not shown. 2. All 3-1/2 inch caliper trees need a bubbler installed at the rootball connected to the existing irrigation system. The following comments were given on the other permit for the new sidewalk, but need to include these comments on this review so we have both plans in agreement with each other: Permit Number 2014010701 1. In the meeting we had on site with Jim Hope and Jeff Brower, it was mentioned that there is an existing 7 inch oak tree that is between the back door and the existing sidewalk where the new walk is to be connected. This was noted and stated that it would not be possible to plant the shrubs in a straight line across the east side of the new walk as the tree is right in line with the proposed hedge. Will need to arc the hedgerow about 4 feet further away from the sidewalk in order to clear the tree and not hit as many roots when planting. The new shrubs will need to be taller due to the shrubs being planted at a lower elevation (the plans show twelve PV shrubs to be installed which are 3- gallon podocarpus at 18 inches tall). This hedge should be PV/2 which are 7-gallon podocarpus and 30 inches tall minimum). 2. When the site was visited by staff prior to this review comment being prepared, it was noted that viburnum suspensum shrubs were used on the east end of the parking lot, south side of the building. The plans also state 7 are proposed, but only 6 have been planted. If it is the intent to stay with this variety of shrub, need to change the plant list and label to reflect this. 3. It was also noted during the site inspection with Jim and Jeff that existing irrigation heads were in the area where the sidewalk is proposed, need to show the relocation of these heads on the plans. | |||
