I do not wish to delay issuance of this important permit any longer; however, a complete response is necessary. Please contact me if you wish to treat submittal of the requested information as a deferred submittal so the permit can be released. Provide complete UL file / installation instructions for Partition 7 detail on Plan Sheet A001. Referenced UL file U438 indicates use of specific proprietary products are required and architectural notes indicate generic references that may lead to installation conflicts. Provide complete construction / installation and fastening details. It is recommended U438 be cut and pasted into construction plans. The Master Keynote Legend K10 will need to be revised so keynotes match actual installation details. 3. I question Note No. 1 in the General Construction Note Section G10 on Plan Sheet A001. I am not aware of any provision within the US Gypsum Association Fire Resistance Design Manual that permits changes to proprietary UL designs. Please clarify note. It is suggested you add statements similar to: if a conflict between the U438 specific installation details and the the Fire Resistance Design Manual or UL Fire Resistence Directory, the specific details of U438 shall prevail. 4. Please clarify Note No. 7 in teh General Constructrion Note Section G10 on Plan Sheet A001. Please cite Florida Building Code provision, ACHA regulation, Florida Statute or Florida Administrative Code provision that only requires repairs to be made to a smoke barrier if 50% or more of an existing smoke compartment is renovated. 5. Please provide complete membrane and / or through penetration fire-stop system details for all items penetrating each type of fire resistance rated wall construction per Section 714.3 and any items penetrating membranes of any horizontal assembly per Section 714.4. Please also provide system patching details for any removed items as per Note 7 on Plan Sheet P121. If there are removed mechanical and /or electrical items, please provide system details for patching methods to be used for each item type. The registered design professional is required to provide this information on submitted plans per Section 107.2.1. Please reference the ASTM E814 or UL 1470 system proposed per Secton 714.3.1.2 and Section 714.4.1.2 and include all necessary construction details. Inspectors will need this infomration to determine if systems are installed according to terms of their listings.
