Please be sure there is no encroachment by any components of the sprinkler riser, valves, assembly, supply/fdc, standpipes, etc. into the required minimum dimensions of the floor level/landings at stairs and required door landing/door swing and place a note on the plans indicating such clearance and non-obstruction.

The 2003 IBC provides requirements for areas of refuge which are fire-rated spaces on levels above or below the exit discharge level.
