Provide escape window for existing bedroom that backs up to kitchenette. R310.1 5. Additions require upgrades to existing smoke alarms. Add note to plans indicating the the exiting home will be provided with smoke alarms connected to the building's electrical system and interconnected. Smoke alarms shall be provided in each bedroom and at a point centrally located in hallways, rooms or other spaces in proximity to bedrooms. Smoke alarms are subject to inspection at time of final inspection for proper location and to check they are interconnected. R314.2.2, R314.2, R314.4, R3124.5, R314.6. 6. Additions require installation of carbon monoxide alarms in existing home.
