The City of Palm Coast would like to inform golfers and residents of the upcoming annual aerification maintenance schedule at the Palm Harbor Golf Club. This important turf management process helps maintain healthy playing conditions throughout the year.

The front nine holes will be closed on Monday, June 1, for aerification maintenance, while the back nine holes will be closed on Tuesday, June 2. Despite the temporary closures, golfers will still be able to enjoy 18 holes of play both days through adjusted course operations.

Aerification, also known as aeration, is a routine and essential golf course maintenance practice performed annually. The process involves punching small holes into the turf, particularly on putting greens, to relieve soil compaction, reduce excess thatch buildup, and improve the flow of oxygen, water, and nutrients to the root zones. These improvements promote healthier turf and better overall course conditions.

Players may notice temporary surface disruption immediately following aerification, but the process is critical to preserving the long-term quality and playability of the course.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience this temporary maintenance schedule may cause and appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as staff work to maintain excellent course conditions for all players.

Golfers are encouraged to plan accordingly when booking tee times in the coming weeks.
