The City of Palm Coast is proud to celebrate July as Parks and Recreation Month following an official proclamation issued by the Palm Coast City Council on June 16, recognizing the essential role parks and recreation play in building a healthier, more connected, and vibrant community.

This year's national theme, "The Power Of," established by the National Recreation and Park Association, celebrates the many ways parks and recreation strengthen communities through connection, play, nature, belonging, and well-being.

Palm Coast's 13 parks, including the award-winning Waterfront Park, provide residents and visitors with opportunities to explore the outdoors, stay active, connect with neighbors, and create lifelong memories. From splash pads and playgrounds to sports fields, trails, dog parks, and community gathering spaces, each park offers its own unique experience and demonstrates the power of recreation in everyday life.

“Parks and recreation are at the heart of what makes Palm Coast a great place to live,” said Parks and Recreation Director James Hirst. “They provide spaces where families gather, children play, residents stay active, and communities grow stronger together. We are proud to celebrate the power of our parks and the people who bring them to life every day.”

Throughout July, the City will host and participate in several events celebrating Parks and Recreation Month, including:

United Flagler Fourth – July 4

Pedal in the Park – July 11

Palm Coast Night at the Daytona Tortugas – July 17

Beats & Eats – July 30

Residents are encouraged to join in the celebration and experience firsthand the power of Palm Coast's parks, programs, and public spaces.

Throughout the month, the City will also highlight the unique features and amenities found across its park system, showcasing how each location contributes to recreation, wellness, environmental stewardship, and community connection.
