What Is a Safe Haven Baby Box?
Under Florida’s Safe Haven Law, parents who cannot care for a newborn may safely surrender the child at: Any fire station, Any hospital, Any police station. However, the law requires the parent to hand the baby to a person in these locations. The Safe Haven Baby Box is different—it allows for complete anonymity. Parents can quietly and safely place their newborn inside the secure, climate-controlled box without having to interact with anyone face-to-face.

A Hopeful Dedication
On September 30, 2025, Palm Coast leaders, first responders, and community partners gathered in the rain to dedicate and bless the Baby Box at Fire Station 25. Even though the weather was wet, the crowd stayed, showing overwhelming support for protecting the most vulnerable lives—our newborn children.

A National Effort

Florida’s Safe Haven Law allows parents to surrender a newborn at a fire station, hospital, or police station—but they must do so in person. The Baby Box is unique because it provides a completely anonymous, safe, and secure option for parents in crisis.
