| Note: 5/4/26= NOTE TO THE INSPECTOR= I received a call from the homeowner regarding concerns with the seawall construction at this property. The homeowner believes the contractor may not have properly compacted the fill behind the seawall. He reports that soil has washed out in several areas and is approximately one foot below the cap in some locations, with noticeable pitting along the entire length of the wall. In addition, the homeowner states that the contractor caused damage to his driveway during construction. The project has not yet received final inspection approval. Please advise whether these issues—specifically the potential improper compaction, soil washout, and driveway damage—will need to be addressed and corrected by the contractor prior to final inspection approval. 2/9/2026 - PREVIOUS INSPECTION NOTES WILL NEED TO HAVE A DRIVEWAY PERMIT FOR DAMAGED DRIVEWAY DURING CONSTRUCTION. -------------------------------------------------------------------- 1/21/2026 - PREVIOUS INSPECTION NOTES 01-21-26 TPOLACEK*** SOD ALONG SEAWALL MUST BE BROUGHT UP TO MATCH GRADE OF SEAWALL AND BASE MUST BE COMPACTED TO PREVENT WASHOUTS. Add notes or callouts to the site and engineering plan that the proposed seawall cap shall match the existing seawall cap elevations at both adjacent property corners. 2. Please provide a grading plan that depicts the grading required to ensure the newly installed seawall will achieve proper embedment while matching the existing adjacent seawall cap elevations. | |||

Add notes or callouts to the site and engineering plan that the proposed seawall cap shall match the existing seawall cap elevations at both adjacent property corners. 2. Please provide clarification on the engineering plan of what is proposed at the seawall ends. The site and engineering plans are not clear with respect to whether there are existing returns on the adjacent existing seawalls. How will the joint where the proposed and adjacent seawalls butt-up be sealed to prevent sedimentation/infiltration? 3. Although not typical for seawall constructjion, a topographic survey and a grading plan will be required for this project due to the significant amount of fill and regrading anticipated to achieve the desired design. 4. This lot is irregular in shape and has a bend at the middle along the rear property line that extends it pretty far out toward the canal. I suggest the existing ground elevation at the rear property lines and corners get picked up via survey to ensure that the proposed sheet piles (8' deep?) will suffice for 50% embedment and provide the ability to match elevations of the adjacent seawall caps at property corners. | |||
