SHIP Program (State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program)
The State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program supports affordable housing opportunities for residents of Palm Coast and Flagler County. Through a partnership between the City and Flagler County, SHIP funds are used to preserve and expand affordable housing, assist income-qualified households, and help meet the housing goals of both the City’s and County’s Comprehensive Plans.
What the SHIP Program Does
SHIP provides a range of housing assistance options depending on funding availability and eligibility, including:
- Roof Replacement: Help with replacing or repairing roofs to keep homes safe and weather-resistant.
- Home Rehabilitation: Assistance for essential repairs that improve health, safety, and livability in existing homes.
- Aging-in-Place Assistance: Supportive home modifications that help older adults or residents with disabilities live more safely and independently.
- Purchase Assistance: Financial support such as down payment or closing cost assistance for eligible first-time homebuyers.
- Rental Development or Rehabilitation: Funds may also support improvements or development of affordable rental housing throughout the community.
