Florida Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins Visits Palm Coast

The City of Palm Coast welcomed Florida Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins on Friday for a visit highlighting local public safety services and continued development within Town Center.

Collins, who is currently a candidate for governor of Florida, began his visit at Palm Coast Fire Station 25, where he was greeted by City representatives, members of the Knights of Columbus, Flagler Palm Coast Kiwanis, and Father Manny Lopez, Pastor of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church in Flagler Beach.

During the tour, Collins met with Palm Coast Fire Department personnel and learned about the department’s service to the community, including Fire Station 25’s Safe Haven Baby Box, which provides parents in crisis with a safe, secure, and anonymous way to surrender a newborn.

The Safe Haven Baby Box was dedicated in September 2025 following a community-led fundraising effort supported by the Knights of Columbus, Flagler Palm Coast Kiwanis, and other local partners. Monitored around the clock by Palm Coast Fire Department personnel, the box is equipped with safety features that immediately alert first responders when it is used.

Following the fire station visit, Collins toured the Promenade at Town Center, a mixed-use development currently under construction near Central Park. The tour included future residential and commercial spaces, including one- and two-bedroom apartments, rooftop gathering areas, and more.

The Promenade is designed to support a more vibrant and walkable Town Center by bringing together housing, restaurants, businesses, and community spaces in one connected development.

“We appreciated the opportunity to welcome Lieutenant Governor Collins to Palm Coast and share some of the important work taking place throughout our community,” City Manager Mike McGlothlin said. “From the compassionate, life-saving resource available at Fire Station 25 to the new housing and commercial opportunities emerging in Town Center, his visit allowed us to showcase the people, partnerships, and investments helping move Palm Coast forward.”
