The City of Palm Coast’s James F. Holland Park will be undergoing renovations to its playground area beginning Monday, April 13, which will see the addition of new turf inside the park’s playground area, including near the zipline and “ruins” area, along with all other areas that currently have turf covering.
The project will be split into phases, with phase 1 (near the zipline area) set to last approximately 4 weeks, and phase 2 (near the hill and west entranceway) expected to last approximately 2 weeks. Phase 2 will remain open when work is being conducted on Phase 1 and vice versa. Areas where construction work is underway will be fenced during this process to assure the safety of all visitors.
“The turf ground covering at Holland Park is essential to the safety of all of the visitors that enjoy our playground daily, and with the annual wear and tear, it’s critical to assure that the turf is restored to assure structural integrity,” said James Hirst, Director of Palm Coast Parks and Recreation. “Because it is an extensive amount of area to cover, we were fortunate to work to assure that this project is split into phases, so that everyone is able to as much of the play area as possible and have it fully reopened and ready for the Summer.”
All other areas and amenities at James F. Holland Park will remain open throughout the duration of this project, including the Splash Pad. James F. Holland Park is located at 18 Florida Park Drive, Palm Coast, FL 32137. To learn more about all of our Parks and Recreation facilities, programs and events, visit palmcoast.gov/parks-and-recreation
