The City of Palm Coast has temporarily closed both dog parks at James F. Holland Memorial Park out of an abundance of caution after being notified of a reported case of canine parvovirus (parvo) involving a dog that routinely visited the small dog park.

As a precaution, City Parks Maintenance staff will apply disinfectant treatment to both the small and large dog park areas. Both sides of the dog park will remain closed until further notice.

The city also reminds pet owners to follow the park rules posted on-site and ensure their dogs are up to date on vaccinations before visiting any dog park.

If residents have recently visited either park and have concerns about possible exposure, please contact a veterinarian for guidance.

While the dog parks at Holland Park are closed, residents are encouraged to enjoy the dog parks at Lehigh Trailhead located at 1350 Belle Terre Parkway.

The city appreciates residents' patience and understanding as staff takes these precautionary steps. Updates regarding the reopening of the Holland Park dog parks will be shared as they become available at https://www.palmcoast.gov/holland-park
