Old Kings Road Force Main
June
During the month of June, work on the Old Kings Road Force Main project focused on system flushing and site maintenance. The contractor successfully flushed approximately 600 linear feet of the force main in preparation for its eventual activation. Additionally, crews conducted cleanup operations along the project corridor on Old Kings Road and Utility Drive, removing various debris piles to maintain a safe and orderly work site. With these latest efforts, the project is now estimated to be 65% complete.
May 2025
Significant progress was made on the Old Kings Road Force Main project in May. Approximately 8,600 linear feet of directional drill pipe was installed and has passed preliminary testing. The project is 60% complete.
April 2025
Four directional drills completed by subcontractor with two taps and connections into existing mains. Fusing of sections of high-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) in preparation for the fifth directional drill. Fusing consists of two heating plates are placed on the ends of each section of pipe, heating the pipe material to specified temperatures, and pressing the ends together to ensure a proper fusing of the pipe. This creates a continuous pipe the length required for each directional drill. This ensures the HDPE can be pulled into a pre-drilled or reamed hole, and able to maintain operating pressures for the reclaimed water and force mains.
