Big changes are happening at Wastewater Treatment Plant 1, including the installation of a new headworks bypass system, and a new aeration system - both of which will enhance efficiency at maintenance efforts throughout the year.

January 2026

On January 20, 2026, Palm Coast City Council approved an adoption of bonds that will fund a major expansion and infrastructure upgrades at Wastewater Treatment Plant #1, which will notably include a capacity expansion from 6 million gallons per day to over 10 million gallons per day.

September 2025

Big changes are happening at Wastewater Treatment Plant 1, including the installation of a new headworks bypass system, and a new aeration system - both of which will enhance efficiency at maintenance efforts throughout the year. 


July 2024

Crews are working to install a bypass system at Wastewater Treatment Facility #1. Additional components of this project will include coating and rehabilitation to the system and aeration upgrades to help improve operations.

As of July 2024, valves have been installed for pressure release and this project is now complete.


January 2024

The City of Palm Coast Utility Department recently completed the removal and installation of 4 high service pumps at Wastewater Treatment Plant #1, all of which are now in service. By completing the project in-house, the project was able to be completed quickly while providing a significant savings on project cost.
