What Is a Precautionary Boil Water Notice?
A boil water notice is issued when water pressure is temporarily lost due to repairs, breaks, or outages.
This is a precaution, not confirmation of contamination. Most notices are lifted within 24–48 hours after testing confirms the water is safe.
What You Should Do
- Boil water for at least one minute before drinking
- Use boiled or bottled water for food prep and brushing teeth
- You may shower, but avoid swallowing water
How You’ll Be Notified
- Door hangers for small areas
- Website, email, social media, and media alerts for larger areas
