Residential Home Smoke Detectors Save Lives!

The Home Safety Inspection Program has been temporarily suspended due to current staffing issues. At this time, we anticipate that the program will remain on hold until at least next year. While it is our hope to resume services at that time, the program's return will depend on available staffing and budget resources, and we are unable to guarantee a restart date. We understand the value this program provides to our community and appreciate your understanding as we navigate these challenges. Updates will be shared as more information becomes available. We are here to help keep you and your family safe. Any resident within the City of Palm Coast may call the Fire department to request and schedule a FREE courtesy home safety inspection. By no means does this release the resident from the overall responsibility of home safety. This is only a way to inform and educate our residents of safer habits to practice in the home.

Assistance in developing and practicing a home escape plan.

Checking and/or installing additional smoke alarms and changing batteries.

Identifying trip and fall hazards.

Proper storage of residential hazardous chemicals and substances.

Check for electrical hazards that may cause fire or injury.

Suggestions on securing home from hazardous situations for children.
